(distribution via the burns wards in Hospitals).
Quarterly (e-mail) newsletter to members.(if
sponsorship permits a hard copy will also be
available)
Provide programs designed to raise the public
awareness concerning the plight of burn victims.
To make available in 2004-2005 a self-contained
accommodation complex on the property at Macleay
Island providing an atmosphere of peace and
tranquillity to assist in the psychological
recovery of burn victims. Christian Counsellors
available on request.
To make an application to the Phoenix Society (in
the USA) with the expectation of sharing resource
material, and the registering of Phoenix House as
an Australian Support Network.
Be linked with Hospital professionals as well as
other burn support groups and affiliates with the
word wide Burns Support Network via the Internet.
Short-term objectives - to offer burns victims a
relaxing and pollution free environment together
with daily practical positive reinforcements to
help cope with the social stigma of permanent and
often disfiguring scaring after major surgery.
Long-term objectives - The Accommodation and
Activity Centre at Phoenix House will provide
educational and social skills to aid in the
return to the community, and to promote an
atmosphere of relaxation and to help restore
confidence with a realistic expectation of new
social interactions in a life after burns.
Phoenix House will seek a suitable Patron to
promote the activities to present with dignity
the plight and difficulties faced by burn's
survivors.
To actively peruse avenues to promote the
awareness of Phoenix House to Hospitals.
To maximize media opportunities to the benefit of
Phoenix House and burns survivors in general.
To raise public awareness of the visible but
forgotten plight of burns survivors |
